Our Mission
Select Your Crown is committed to restoring the personal sense of beauty and confidence of women and children suffering from chemotherapy-induced-alopecia and alopecia areata. By providing high-quality, custom wigs, cosmetic treatments, and education at little or no cost to recipients, we seek to empower these women and children to feel and be beautiful, while the scientific community strives to discover cures for these conditions.
Our Founder
Select Your Crown is a black, female-owned, non-profit organization founded in 2020 by Markeisha Rose. As the Founder, owner, stylist and wig designer for the Rose Beauty Bar in Clarksville, Tennessee, Markeisha had encountered many clients who were struggling with alopecia. While the salon serves a broad client base, Markeisha came to realize that many of her clients and friends simply could not financially afford even discounted pricing for these high-quality, personalized wigs, designed in part to help combat hair loss. It’s from that experience that she identified the need for Select Your Crown. Now, Markeisha is committed to leveraging her more than 15 years of cosmetology experience, along with the support of her highly skilled SYC staff and volunteers, to deliver these custom, hair solutions to recipients suffering from alopecia.

Select Your Crown relies on the gracious, hard-working support of our team members and volunteers. Where donors and sponsors provide much of our financial resources, it is the talent, skills, time and efforts of our staff and volunteers – under the direction of our Founder – which ultimately determine how we succeed in our mission. We are grateful to and genuinely proud of every individual on our team. And together as a team, we are honored to share in the task of supporting women and children with alopecia to feel and be beautiful.
